My name is Kristen, and I am the Program Coordinator here at Tenderfoot. I moved to Colorado from Wyoming to attend and swim at Colorado Mesa University. During my college career I taught and coached age group swimming for Maverick Aquatics during this time I was also a children’s ski instructor at the local resort on the Grand Mesa. I had obtained a liberal arts degree but still was not sure what I wanted to be when I grew up. In 2015 my husband and I moved to Gunnison where I was lucky enough to get a job as a lead teacher for a small preschool. It was then I knew I was in the right place at the right time, I finally knew what I wanted to be.  Teaching young children has taught me to never stop being curious about the world around us, to embrace wonder and cultivate new experiences whenever possible.
